And it's only just spread to Android.
Announced and released on iOS at the start of E3, Bethesda's 'Fallout Shelter' is quite the viral addiction. Last week, the game came to Android, and today, Bethesda has dropped some crazy statistics on the game's success.
In 'Fallout Shelter,' players take the role of the Overseer of their specific numbered vault. By building rooms and managing vault dwellers, overseers attract (and breed) more people, and are able to grow bigger and bigger vaults.
The best part, however, has to be the loot available to find in the Wastelands and through special rewards. Outfits and weapons make dwellers formidable survivors. (Health and radiation treatments help as well).
Looking at the numbers, we can see that 85,391,869 Vaults have been created. Even considering players with multiple vaults on different platforms and accounts, that still suggests users in the tens of millions.
The 29,076,178 hours played may be more telling of the game's success.
Hopefully, the game's success encourages Bethesda to create more updates and free content. A stronger crossover with 'Fallout 4' would doubtlessly please some users.
The game can be downloaded here. ('Fallout Shelter' is a free download.)
