'Dynasty Warriors 9' Announced

A series-first foray into an open world.

Koei Tecmo has officially announced 'Dynasty Warriors 9' the latest main entry in their popular series of hack and slash action games. No platforms have been announced for the game, but since it was announced at a Sony event, it is more than likely heading to PlayStation 4, and the game has been confirmed to be heading to the US and Europe.

Described as a rebirth for the series, the game will be set in an open world with plenty of towns and open fields to freely explore, and all 83 characters that have appeared in the series thus far will be in this entry. Koei Tecmo also claims that all of China will be in the game's world, and that the combat may undergo fairly large changes from previous entries while still keeping the same feeling of being a single character up against thousands of enemies.
