A quiet death.
Nintendo announced back in June that the online multiplayer of 'Devil's Third' would be shutting down on December 29th. That day has now come and gone, and Vallhalla Game Studios' third-person shooter can now only be played offline. The server closure impacts all regions, and the multiplayer is now officially dead in Japan, Europe and North America.
The Tomonobu Itagaki directed action game released August 4th, 2015 in Japan, but didn't make its way to North America until December 11th. It was a Nintendo Wii U exclusive title, and Nintendo published the game. Only a limited amount of copies were made, and the game was a bust in terms of critical reception.
'Devil's Third' is available now exclusively on Nintendo Wii U. A PC version of the game, that only included the online play, released June 8th, 2016 in Japan. It's set to release worldwide at a future date.
