'Worms Battlegrounds' Set for War on Both the PS4 and Xbox One

Supports both local and online multiplayer.

One ultimate version of war as boiled down to its essence will be available to both PS4 and Xbox One owners as the ultimate version of 'Worms' is set to arrive as 'Worms Battlegrounds.' The new game features a single player campaign built on 25 story missions and 10 Worm-Ops time-attack missions spread over five environments, each part of a new day-to-night cycle. For battling the game has 65 "outrageous" weapons.

The story has been written by multi-BAFTA winner Dean Wilkinson and will be narrated by Katherine Parkinson, who played Jen in the 'IT Crowd.'

'Worms Battlegrounds' supports both local and online 4-player multiplayer battles with Deathmatch, Forts, Classic and custom game modes. The game also sees the return of clans for league play, which allows for online co-op with each player controlling two worms.

Then there is the Landscape Editor for creating custom maps.

The Xbox One version, an ID@Xbox title, is due May 30th and supports Smart Glass. The PS4 version is due out June 3rd and supports the DualShock 4's touch pad (for quick weapon selection) speaker and light bar.
