And the crowd goes wild.
In no uncertain terms, Square Enix's pre-order pyramid scheme for 'Deus Ex: Mankind Divided' went over with gamers like Kanye West playing at a Klan rally. Thankfully, it looks like common sense has prevailed, and Square Enix is shutting down the promotion.
What this means is that the pre-order content teased in the original promo will be available to everybody who pre-orders the game, or purchases the Day One edition. In addition, the early release date of February 23rd is now the official, across-the-board release date.
From the official post on the 'Deus Ex' website: "To our faithful fans who’ve already pre-ordered: we will be taking care of everything necessary to ensure that all of the changes to the program will be automatically applied to your purchase. Meanwhile, we'd like to thank everybody for their feedback - we know this wouldn't have happened with a game that nobody cared about, and we're just focusing now on delivering a game that lives up to your hopes and expectations."
