The launch trailer for 'Heart of Thorns,' the first expansion for 'Guild Wars 2,' is now live, almost a full month before the expansion's October 23 release date. For fans of the game, some of whom might have been waiting for an expansion like this since the game first came out in 2012, the trailer offers an epic look at sword fights, dragon attacks, and the assembly of a creature made out of thorns.

'Heart of Thorns' is one half of the MMORPG's new pricing structure. The base game is now free to play, offering newbies a risk-free entry into the game. The paid expansion then allows more enthusiastic fans to open up a world of new content and mechanics.

'Heart of Thorns' is available for preorder now, with three different bundles available depending on what kind of bonuses a player wants to receive. The expansion by itself runs players $49.99, a $74.99 Deluxe edition offers an additional character slot and some cosmetic items, and the $99.99 Ultimate edition includes all of that plus 4,000 Gems, which would otherwise cost players $50.
