Mobile Hit 'Star Trek Timelines' Now Playable on Web Browsers[teaser]Disruptor Beam is also working on a mobile 'The Walking Dead' game.[/teaser] Disruptor Beam's popular mobile game 'Star Trek Timelines' can now be played on a computer monitor. The role-playing title, which features characters from every era of 'Star Trek' and allows players to create a dream team of crew members, can now be played in a browser on Facebook Games. Alternatively, users can access the free-to-play title by downloading the Facebook Gamesroom app. Mobile players will be able to use their existing account to carry over their progress. Disruptor Beam explained how to do this on their website's official FAQ: You will need to first play 'Star Trek Timelines' on your mobile device and reach level four to authorize the Facebook app, but after that you will be able to seamlessly shift between the mobile and desktop versions of the game. Instructions on linking accounts are available on Facebook Games. Your currency, crew, progress, and everything else will be with you no matter where you log on. This news comes after Disruptor Beam revealed that they are working on a 'The Walking Dead' adaptation in October. Called 'March to War,' the Android and iOS titles has players building alliances in order to survive the apocalypse. The "story-based multiplayer strategy game" is currently on track to come out in 2017. 'Star Trek Timelines' released in January of this year on iOS and Android. It's now available on PC as well. 'Let It Die' Now Available on PS4[teaser]Can you make it to the top of the Tower of Barbs?[/teaser] Grasshopper Manufacture's first free to play game 'Let It Die' has been released on PS4 following a new trailer shown off during the PlayStation Experience keynote on Saturday. The game is a roguelike/action-RPG with combat mechanics heavily inspired by 'Dark Souls', and tasks players with climbing the Tower of Barbs, a mysterious, violent tower that supposedly holds a treasure at its highest floor. When players die, their corpse becomes an enemy that they will have to defeat in order to get them and any items they may have been holding back into their possession. You can catch the launch trailer for the game below: While the game is free to play, the microtransactions are only used to purchase Death Metals, which help make things a little more convenient, such as speeding up item creation or allowing players to resurrect immediately upon death, and the game regularly hands out Death Metals for free, so it never feels like those playing for free are being shortchanged. While it's rough in places, I've had a good time with the hours I've put into it so far, and I'm looking forward to playing more of it. Hideo Kojima Partnered With Guerrilla Games For The 'Death Stranding' Engine[teaser]Some cross-globe collaboration.[/teaser] 'Death Stranding,' Hideo Kojima's upcoming title, is built using developer Guerrilla Games' proprietary game engine, now rebranded as Decima. During a panel at PlayStation Experience 2016, Kojima and Guerrilla Games' Hermen Hulst spoke about this partnership, which involved Guerrilla handing Kojima the source code to the engine that they have used to make games like the upcoming 'Horizon Zero Dawn.' The engine has been rebranded as Decima, named after both a Greek goddess of childbirth and a 17th-century Japanese port that facilitated trade with Dutch traders, fitting for a collaboration between Kojima and the Amsterdam-based Guerrilla. According to PS4 lead architect Mark Cerny, Kojima was in the market for an engine for his next game after losing access to the Fox Engine of the 'Metal Gear Solid' series following his split with Konami. Cerny led the search for a partner, resulting in the partnership with Guerrilla. You can watch the entire panel, featuring Kojima, Hulst, and Cerny, below. Ellie Will Be The Main Playable Character In 'The Last Of Us Part II'[teaser]"This story is about hate."[/teaser] In the recently revealed sequel to Naughty Dog's hit 'The Last of Us,' Ellie will take over as the primary playable character, the developer announced. During a panel at PlayStation Experience 2016, Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann confirmed that the player's perspective will shift from Joel, the primary playable character in the original game, to Ellie. The sequel will take place several years after the end of the first game, when Ellie is 19 years old. In addition to shifting character perspectives, Druckmann also contrasted the two titles in terms of theme. While the first game, he said, focuses on themes of love and family, the sequel will focus on hate. Though the first 'Last of Us' game was largely Joel's story, players were able to see the world from Ellie's perspective in a small portion of the original game and in the "Left Behind" story DLC. You can watch the whole panel, featuring Druckmann, Ellie actor Ashley Johnson, and Joel actor Troy Baker, below. Source: SonyPosted Sun Dec 4, 2016 at 08:59 AM PST by: -
All The Playstation Experience Keynote News That's Fit To Print[teaser]Announcements, trailers, and, some indie game called Last of Us is getting a sequel.[/teaser] PSX's main event has ended, and compared to their E3 shows, it's always impressive just how much killer Sony packs into these, but hey, this is fast becoming their yearly victory lap, they're allowed. To wit, we had a ton of news crammed into around an hour and a half. So, let's get down to business. Marvel vs Capcom Infinite Announced After a week of teases, the Game Formerly Known As Marvel vs Capcom 4 has officially been unveiled to the world. Titled 'Marvel vs Capcom Infinite', the game actually represents a mild scaling back to 'X-Men vs Street Fighter's 2-on-2 battles, as well as what appears to be a return to 'Marvel Super Heroes' Infinity Stones mechanic. No confirmation just yet on whether the prevailing rumor, that the X-Men are sitting this one out in favor of all Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, is actually true, but the trailer so far seems to back that up, with Iron Man and Captain Marvel (who does seem to bear no small resemblance to Brie Larson) taking on Ryu and Mega Man. Actual gameplay will be premiering during the Capcom Cup tomorrow evening. The game will be hitting sometime next year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In the meantime, here's the first trailer: In The Meantime, 'Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3' Is Coming Back You read that out. Because surprises are the name of the game for Capcom, they decided to appease everyone's thirst for full details on 'Marvel vs Capcom Infinite' by casually throwing out that 'Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is being gussied up for a 1080p, 60fps debut on PS4. Even better, the game releases soon. Like really soon. As in, today. As in, RIGHT NOW. The game is already up in the Playstation Store for the mildly pricy, but so-very-worth-it price of $24.99. Xbox and PC folk will get the game in March. But Wait, There's More 'Ultimate MvsC 3' won't be going to the PS alone tonight, as Suda 51's 'Let It Die', 'Lara Croft Go', 'Garou: Mark of the Wolves', and the final update to the free 'Resident Evil 7' demo--which will finally include PSVR support--have all been released to the Playstation Store. 'Let It Die' is free-to-play, 'Lara Croft Go' is $10, and 'Mark of the Wolves' is $14.99. URNOTE: Classic Playstation Titles Are Making A Comeback Sony will also be doing some re-releasing of its own soon. First up is no surprise to anyone who played 'Uncharted 4': the first three 'Crash Bandicoot' games will be brought together for the 'Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy'. More than just a remaster, the game will have additional animations, beautifully rendered characters and environments, as well as the ability to switch back and forth between the new art style and the original. More details can be found right over here. Sony will also be putting together 'Wipeout Omega Collection', which will include content from 'Wipeout HD', 'Fury', and '2048', remastered, and running up to 4K resolution on PS4 Pro, at 60fps. 'Wipeout HD' is still a jaw-dropping beauty of a game. The idea of that running at 4K is enough to make a grown man weep. Lastly, a trio of old-school music-based games will be getting a similar treatment, starting with 'Parappa The Rapper' next year. Remasters of 'LocoRoco' and 'Patapon' will follow. But for now, YOU GOTTA BELIEVE. Now, A New 'Ni No Kuni II' Trailer Because new Studio Ghibli animation is never a bad thing, have a look at the new 'Ni No Kuni' trailer. What else does one say besides, "It's Studio Ghibli". It's a whole lot of magic, surrounding a pretty decent JRPG. All The Single Ladies: 'Uncharted 4's Spinoff Unveiled Naughty Dog bookended the keynote with two major announcements, the first of which is the long-teased single player DLC for 'Uncharted 4', which will, apparently, be its own standalone game, called 'Lost Legacy'. The game will be more akin to 'The Last of Us: Left Behind'. It'll star Chloe and Nadine working together to kick ass for great justice in the Middle East. The trailer is below, which has a slow build, but then the last minute or so happens... You Haven't Seen The Last Of 'The Last Of Us' Finally, the big news of the day: The keynote's "one last thing" anouncement was that Joel and Ellie are coming back in 'The Last of Us Part II'. The game is extremely early in development, so we're probably looking at something like 2018 for the full game. But for right now, we have this beautifully moody trailer of Ellie singing a gentle tune about the smiting of her enemies.
