'Batman - the Telltale Series' Comes to an End Tomorrow[teaser]Get prepared for the season finale.[/teaser] 'Batman - The Telltale Series' is coming to an end, as the episodic adventure game's fifth episode will release December 13th. Called 'City of Light,' the episode has Batman finally dealing with the leader of the Children of Arkham. It'll be up to the player to protect the city of Gotham while also keeping Bruce Wayne's identity as Batman a secret. Choices players made in the game's fourth episode will also have a major impact on how the story will unfold. In a prepared statement the developer said that "Players will begin this episode in very different places depending on where they chose to go in the third act of Episode 4." That means players who didn't like their previous choices will probably want to replay the third act before playing the finale tomorrow. Check out the trailer below: Episode five of 'Batman - The Telltale Series' will release December 13th on PS4, Xbox One, PC and mobile. Watch 'The Walking Dead: A New Frontier's Launch Trailer[teaser]First two episodes launch next week.[/teaser] The third season of Telltale Games' 'The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series' is set to start soon, and now players can take a sneak peak at 'A New Frontier' before it begins. The minute long video shows newcomer Javier teaming up with returning protagonist Clementine to help battle a group of survivors called Frontier. Their adventure will unfold when 'A New Frontier's first two episodes release December 20th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and mobile. Similar to recent episodic series by Telltale, 'The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series - A New Frontier' will be receiving a season pass disc at retail. This will arrive February 14th on PS4 and Xbox One, and will allow owners to play new episodes as they come out. The series will last five episodes and the developer is calling it "both a new beginning for players fresh to the series and unfamiliar with Clementine, as well as a continuation for players who have experienced [previous seasons]." That's also why the game is getting away from the season branding. The first two episodes of 'The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series - A New Frontier' release December 20th. 'Dota 2' 7.00 Update Details Revealed, Including New Character, UI, Mechanics, And More[teaser]A new journey.[/teaser] Valve yesterday announced the coming of 'Dota 2' update 7.00, the first whole-number patch in years, to much community excitement. Now, with the official 7.00 site up and running (after a couple of hours of glitchy downtime), we can finally see what's new in 'Dota 2.' Updated pregame Titled "A New Journey," inspired by the new Monkey King character, the patch is making significant changes to the game's mechanics and interface, and the changes can be seen before a match even starts. The 7.00 update is giving more meaning to the game's pregame phase. Once players select their heroes via a revamped selection screen, teams will have 30 seconds of guaranteed planning time to throw together a quick plan of attack on an adjacent "strategy map" while the match loads in the background. Players will also be able to buy their starting items before the game starts, allowing them to hit the ground running once everything is loaded. New gameplay mechanics The mechanics of the match itself are being overhauled as well. The game is introducing a Hero Talent Tree, which is a way to further customize the abilities of your chosen hero. At levels 10, 15, 20, and 25, players will be able to choose one of two bonuses that they can use to complement their playing style. For example, at level 10, the Wraith King can choose to buff his own damage or his intelligence. Then, at level 15, he has a choice between added movement speed or health. Each hero has their own unique talent tree. The other significant addition to gameplay is the backpack, which allows players to carry three additional items. These items are inactive in the backpack, meaning they offer no bonuses and cannot be activated, but they can be switched into a player's active inventory and used after a six-second inactivity timer. Valve is also adjusting many of the game's nuts and bolts, such as XP progression and respawn times. If you want to dive into these numbers, they can be found on the 7.00 website. New character, the Monkey King The Monkey King seems to be the figurehead for this new patch. The melee carry was first announced back in August, but now Valve is opening up more about his specific in-game abilities. Besides dealing damage with his staff, the Monkey King comes with some interesting powers, including being able to leap through the trees of the map (which he can follow with a damaging slam back to solid ground) and being able to disguise himself as different objects based on his location. New interface The last major change in 7.00 is an updated heads-up display. During a match, the various information elements have been redesigned to take up less space, giving players a better view of the field and making room for some new interface options. You can see for yourself how the game's interface will be changing on the 7.00 website. Source: ValvePosted Sun Dec 11, 2016 at 10:54 AM PST by: -

New 'Tekken 7' Gameplay Trailer Introduces Kuma And Panda[teaser]Bear necessities.[/teaser] Bandai Namco has released a new gameplay trailer for 'Tekken 7,' showing off the fighting styles of two bear characters, Kuma and Panda, because apparently one playable bear is too few. Kuma has been a recurring 'Tekken' brawler since the first game. Panda first showed up back in 'Tekken 3.' Unlike Kuma, who in his base appearance is a no-frills bear (when he's not dressing up as some sort of bear cyborg, of course), Panda prefers to accessorize with a hat, bracelets, and a trendy bag. She also enjoys playing volleyball using her opponents as the ball, whereas Kuma likes to smack opponents around with a fish. 'Tekken' is an odd game. You can see both characters in action in the trailer below. Source: Bandai NamcoPosted Sun Dec 11, 2016 at 09:20 AM PST by: -
(Un)Break You: 'Batman: Return To Arkham' Has Been Patched[teaser]PS4 Pro enhancements included as well.[/teaser] While not as white-hot furious as the reaction to the PC 'Arkham Knight', 'Batman: Return To Arkham' has been mired in technical problems pretty much since the first trailer dropped, and the complaints were founded once the game actually dropped and we got a stuttering, clippy mess with 'Asylum', and a wildly inconsistent framerate in 'City'. Last night, however, WB Games quietly put out the answer to everyone's prayers. Patch 1.02 has been released for the game, delivering, according to a post on their official forums, "visual upgrades for the PS4 Pro, as well a variety of performance and stability improvements". Having given both a spin on PS4 Pro, I can confirm the game is definitely running at higher resolution on a 4K screen, looking a lot cleaner and brighter than it did at release. We'll leave the fine details to the inevitable Digital Foundry video, but at least on a surface level, the graphical enhancements are most welcome. More importantly, however, the patch has delivered the blessing of fixing 'Arkham Asylum's framerate problem. Zero stutters, even in high-activity areas of the game and transitions. It's all smooth as silk. The one minor downside, however, is that it appears they did much the same for 'Arkham City'. While the framerate did have the nasty habit of dipping down something fierce before, there were equally as many moments--especially on the PS4 Pro--where it would hit high-40/low-50 fps. The game still looks great, but sadly, those days are done, with the game now locked to a steady 30fps. Stability is good, but a switch of some kind to choose how you want the PS4 to handle things might've been appreciated. That seems to apply to a lot of Pro optimized games. Looking at you, 'Last Guardian'. Still, anyone who was hesitating on the 'Arkham' set due to the technical hitches (and doesn't own a midrange PC that can hit 60fps with these), it's now safe to jump on board. The Prince Who Would Be King: 'Final Fantasy XV' Reviewed[teaser]So much charm.[/teaser] At long last, 'Final Fantasy XV' is out, and we have a review of the PS4 version here. As fate would have it, after playing several demos on PS4, including 'Episode Duscae' and 'Platinum Demo,' I wound up playing the final game, not on the PS4 Pro as I had expected, but on a Xbox One S. The number one thing to report here is that I've really enjoyed the HDR support. This is a game with a lot of sunsets, and some very colorful characters and creatures, and, considering the openworld aspects, 'Final Fantasy XV' close to demo material for a 4K HDR set. As for the game itself, it's a slow-starter. I think that both the questionable 'Kingsglaive' movie, and the fun 'Brotherhood' short anime series are essential for being grounded in the game's big picture story and for getting to know the main party. The combat can be really fun, and it's certainly a robust system. There is a lot to do in terms of quests and explorations, side pursuits, and when thing gets meatier, there is a real payoff, which makes the game hard to put down. The open aspects are flavored with a certain enthusiasm. It's the kind of outlook that likes snapping pictures, reviewing them at a campsite, and scouring the land for ingredients and recipes to make new kinds of hot dishes. I was surprised by how relaxing the game's fishing mini-game is, and that's not the only surprise by far. What I keep thinking of, however, is that one of my favorite game series does these things, and does them even better. That would be the 'Yakuza' series. But of course, 'FFXV' is full of 'Final Fantasy' touches to find and appreciate, and that's not at all lost on this longtime series fan. 'Sky Force Anniversary' Launches Today on Xbox One[teaser]The shmup remake is now available on Xbox One.[/teaser] Developer Infinite Dreams' 'Sky Force Anniversary' is finally available on Xbox One. The shoot 'em up remake of 'Sky Force' came out on PlayStation consoles earlier this year, and gives the 2004 release new visuals and modes. The upgraded version will cost players $9.99. 'Sky Force Anniversary' features a single-player campaign where players try to save the world from the evil General Mantis. Other modes include local co-op play, and weekly tournaments that take place on unique levels. The main game also allows players to choose between various weapon types, so there seems to be a nice amount of experimentation. 'Farming Simulator 17' Gets PS4 Pro Support in New Patch[teaser]Now you're farming with power.[/teaser] 'Farming Simulator 17' has been a huge commercial success for developer Giants Software, and now they're rewarding PS4 Pro owners with a free upgrade. Publisher Focus Home Interactive announced today that a PS4 Pro update for 'Farming Simulator 17' is now available. It offers three separate modes each with their own perks. Those looking for optimal visuals will want to pick the Ultra HD setting to enjoy the game at a 4K resolution. It's worth notng that the game won't have an improved frame-rate, but getting to look at pigs in 4K should ease players. Other options include HD (which is 1080p at 60fps), which has the promise of a better draw distance, and Quad HD (1440p at 60fps). It's great to see a developer giving players choices so they can prioritize looks or performance. 'Farming Simulator 17' released October 25th on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
