'Gran Turismo Sport' Slips to 2017, No New Date Set[teaser]"We do not want to compromise the experience in any way."[/teaser] Sony and Polyphony Digital's latest 'Gran Turismo' game, the first in the racing series meant for the PS4, won't be out in 2016. 'Gran Turismo Sport' was scheduled for release on November 15th, but today, Kazunori Yamauchi made the announcement that the game would be delayed to 2017. Describing the delay as a "difficult decision," Kazunori Yamauchi stated that: (A)s we approach our planned release date in November, we realize we need more time to perfect GT Sport, which we’ve already dedicated so much effort towards since announcing the title. We do not want to compromise the experience in any way. While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date. While a new release date was not announced, the game will continue to make the rounds at several planned events/shows. I played 'GT Sport' at E3 2016, and found the demo to be limited but also familiar in a 'Gran Turismo' way. Delaying the game and improving it is a much better plan than trying to release it and the introduce fixes. Hopefully, the extra time (however much that is), is put to good use. First English Trailer for 'Akiba's Beat' Released[teaser]Caught in a time loop in Akihabara.[/teaser] Today, XSEED has released the first English trailer for Acquire's upcoming action-RPG 'Akiba's Beat', showing off the main character Asahi Tachibana. You can check out the trailer right here: The publisher also released a full description for the character: NEET: Short for “No Experience, Education, or Training.” Typically considered to be underskilled shut-ins who live by themselves in humble yet comfortable apartments, NEETs are known to mooch off their parents’ good will to play video games and watch anime all day instead of looking for work. Asahi Tachibana is a textbook NEET, living a lazy, cozy life in Akihabara, the infamous Tokyo suburb renowned for its proliferation of anime and video game merchandise, maid cafes, pop idols, and all other forms of counterculture indulgence. To him, every day is Sunday, and every Sunday is a fun day. Little does he know, however, that every day is about to become Sunday for real! Caught in a temporal loop, where the day restarts as soon as it ends, Asahi is one of only a chosen few whose memories don’t reset with it. He and his merry band of time-displaced losers must now scour Akihabara for signs of “delusions” – people’s innermost fantasies made manifest, changing the cityscape and the behavior of its citizens alike. It is the duty of this ragtag team (whether they like it or not) to infiltrate and destroy these delusions, restoring the natural order of Akiba in the vain hope that this loop may be their last. During the course of this increasingly improbable quest, Asahi and his companions will unravel a deep, twisted mystery that blurs the line between the physical world and that of mankind’s innermost desires. Can this band of misfits restore normalcy (or what passes for normalcy) to Akihabara? Or will they succumb to the will of the enigmatic pink-caped man, who seems to be the key to everything…? I'm actually really looking forward to it. The 'Akiba's Trip' games had some issues, but they were terrific virtual tours of Akihabara that were hugely funny, too. The gameplay seen here seems much improved, and I love time loop stories, so this is really up my alley. It'll be out on PS4 and Vita this Winter. This Week 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition' Is a Great Pick for New Players[teaser]PS4, Xbox One, and PC for $49.99.[/teaser] The 'Witcher III: Wild Hunt' is The High-Def Digest Game of the Year for 2015, and so it should be no surprise that the upcoming 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition' aka 'Game of the Year Edition' is worth some time. This new version bundles the 'Heart of Stone' and 'Blood and Wine' expansions along with the main game and free DLC for $49.99. That's for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. One thing to know about this version of 'The Witcher III,' saves will not be compatible between the original version of the game and this GOTY version on the PS4 and Xbox One. (They will be compatible on PC.) That's why this version is good for new players. Those with the original game on console will want to get the existing expansion pass instead. Personally, I recently began reading 'The Sword of Destiny,' which is a bundle of stories that began 'The Witcher' universe. Not only is the book good, but the content compliments the world I know from the game series. They're in Japanese, but being a 'Musou' title, and since these exclusively show combat, it's not hard to grasp what's going on, You can catch the trailers right here. Casca: Judeau: While I wish this was deviating a little more from the 'Musou' formula, as the recent 'Attack on Titan' has shown that Omega Force can excel evn when they experiment, I'm very fond of the franchise this is based on, and I'm still really excited to play it. It'll be out in Japan on October 27th, while Koei Tecmo has confirmed the game will release on PS4, Vita, and PC this Fall in the US and Europe.
