'Gears of War 4' and Run the Jewels Collabo Air Drop Now Available, Come See What's Included[teaser]Gears 4's bejeweled first DLC.[/teaser] Run the Jewels is a rap duo consisting of Killer Mike and El-P, both established solo artists who came together to release two albums in 2013 and 2014 (a third album has been announced for 2016 but has yet to release). The Coalition has incorporated their voices and likenesses into an RTJ-themed customization pack for 'Gears of War 4's versus and horde modes. The pack includes character models for both musicians, their voices, a pair of emblems, and skins for all 18 current weapons, right down to the plucky snub pistol. The skins are aquamarine and gold and emblazoned with RTJ's distinctive "gun and fist" logo, or two dismembered hands making a gun sign and holding up a gold chain. The visual artists had their work cut out for them trying to get the logo onto the smaller weapons, which end up looking kind of blurry, but the bigger guns stand out on the battlefield. This is especially true for selections like the torque bow and dropshot, which currently don't have a lot of distinguishing, colorful skins to choose from (unlike my pretty pink bubbles snub, don't judge). The character models do indeed look like the inimitable Killer Mike and El-P, with the signature beard and sunglasses respectively. There are no new animations, simply skins. The voices are the best part. Both artists did a fine job in the recording studio, even if their lines are limited to swearing, brief comments about planting grenades, and imitating a person being chainsawed alive. The pack is priced at $20, which I'd like to mention is the same price as a lot of pre-2016 season passes with hours of content (the awesome 'Blood and Wine' expansion for 'Witcher III' is also $20, for instance). This pack is not included with the Season Pass or the 'Ultimate Edition,' which likely comes as either a surprise or something of a shrug. So in good conscience I can only recommend this pack to two kinds of people: the kind who want to pay $1 per 1,000 'Gears 4' experience (it comes with 2 easy versus bounties worth 10,000 each, also this is not an economical solution) OR those people who dearly love both Run the Jewels and 'Gears of War 4' and have been dying for their favorite rappers to come to Sera and gib drones with gnashers. If that describes you, you have been waiting a long time for this treat and for one Andrew Jackson it's all yours. For everyone else, it's an overpriced skin pack. Get 'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' Free With Purchase of a PS4 Slim This Friday & Saturday[teaser]Get 'Uncharted 4' included as well for $299.99.[/teaser] Update: Amazon has this offer. It's available here. Also, check out the review of the game here. Today, Sony announced a new promotion, and it's one that includes the new 'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare,' which drops this Friday. Basically, those that purchase a new PS4 this Friday and Saturday (November 4-5th), will get a copy of 'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' for free. This offer is specifically for the new, slimmer PS4. (Not the upcoming PS4 Pro.) The slimmer PS4 comes with a 500GB hard drive, and is normally priced at $299.99. There is in fact a bundle on offer at $299.99 that pairs the PS4 slim with 'Uncharted 4,' and this bundle is included in the free 'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' offer. Order from Amazon As really attractive as this offer is, Sony is a little shy on the details. Presumably this offer is good for a wide swathe of retailers, but that has not yet been specified. Ditto whether or not the free copy of 'Infinite Warfare' will be digital or disc. That said, 'Infinite Warfare' is an excellent way to get to know the PS4 (not to mention 'Uncharted 4'). Again, this offer is only for November 4th and 5th. You can find the latest info on 'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' linked from our Video Game Release Schedule. PS4 Pro Enhancements for 'Horizon: Zero Dawn' Detailed[teaser]A whole host of visual improvements across the board.[/teaser] Guerrilla Games and Sony have detailed all of the enhancements the PS4 Pro will bring to their upcoming action RPG 'Horizon: Zero Dawn', as well as released new screenshots showing the game on that system. The enhancements are as follows:In 1080p, the game will have far greater image quality overall, making use of supersampling, meaning that the game is internally rendered at a resolution close to 4K and then shrunk down to 1080p, resulting in smoother edges and a more stable image. There will be quality enhancements to shadow maps and anisotropic filtering, resulting in far more detailed environmental textures.Full support for 4KTVs, rendering the game using a 2160p checkerboard which Guerrilla states is "a special technique that looks incredible on a 4K TV". Lastly, there will be HDR support, which greatly enhances the range of colors on display, resulting in a more vibrant game overall. You can check out the PS4 Pro screenshots right here: Source: SonyPosted Wed Nov 2, 2016 at 05:32 AM PDT by: -
'Blue Dragon' Added to Xbox One Backward Compatibility[teaser]Worth it for the boss music alone.[/teaser] Having previously added Mistwalker's Xbox 360 classic 'Lost Odyssey' to Xbox One via backward compatibility in September, Microsoft has now made Mistwalker's other highly acclaimed JRPG 'Blue Dragon'' playable on Xbox One. As was the case with 'Lost Odyssey', 'Blue Dragon' was never released digitally, so unfortunately only physical copies will work, but it's great that these beloved games are still easily playable today. It's not quite as good as 'Lost Odyssey', but I really enjoyed 'Blue Dragon'. The story is fairly traditional fare, but it's a fun game overall with some really terrific combat mechanics and one of the most hilariously fun battle themes of all time, with vocals by Ian Gillan of Deep Purple (seriously).
