For All Munkind: 'Kerbal Space Program' Will Land On Consoles In Lightspeed[teaser]Release date and launch trailer revealed.[/teaser] The last we heard of the console ports for 'Kerbal Space Program' was last year's E3, when they were actually announced. After way too long of a wait, the good folks at Squad have finally broken their silence: the critically acclaimed space program simulator will be hitting both Xbox One and PS4 this month. The PS4 version will hit Tuesday, July 12th, with the Xbox One version also due this month, To give a taste of what players can expect, they've also given the Playstation Blog an official launch trailer. What it doesn't show, however, is the revamped controls, which will be taking a really complex experience, and cramming it into a much more limited interface. But, these guys had help from NASA developing this thing. We're pretty sure they can figure out a Dualshock 4. Check out the trailer below. Get 'Trials Of The Blood Dragon' Free On PC...If You're Good Enough[teaser]Always a catch.[/teaser] Good news, PC gamers! If you haven't thrown down the money for 'Trials of the Blood Dragon' yet, on July 22nd, you'll actually get the chance to try the game out thanks to Ubisoft releasing a demo to uPlay. It'll likely include a smattering of the game's introductory levels, if anything, though probably saving its more bonkers stages for the full game. Even better news: Ubisoft will be setting up said demo so that players will have the ability to unlock the full game for free.....if they're good enough. See, the catch to PC players getting the full game is that they'll need to get through the demo with fewer than 15 faults. Basically, you can't screw up more than 15 times. Which would be perfectly fine if 'Trials' wasn't a game were screwing up wasn't very literally as easy as falling off a bike. For what it's worth, 'Trials of the Blood Dragon' IS probably the easiest of the 'Trials' titles thus far, so experts may have a better chance at snagging the full game than most, but there's also some real annoying platforming going on that might throw even veterans for a loop. Course, you could cut out the middle-man and just throw $15 at Ubisoft and buy the game NOW. But where's the fun in that, right? Source: UbisoftPosted Thu Jul 7, 2016 at 10:26 AM PDT by: -
Morir Es Vivir: 'Resident Evil 4' Gets Its PS4/Xbox One Release Date[teaser]Finally getting to the good stuff.[/teaser] Capcom has made much ado about the latter-day 'Resident Evil' titles getting current-gen upgrades, but, even for fans of '5' and '6', real talk here, it's all been biding time for 'Resident Evil 4'. And today, Capcom has announced when that countdown is finally over. "Resident Evil 4' will hit the PS4 and Xbox One on August 30th. The re-release will be updated to 1080p/60fps (well, try to. 'RE5's been having some issues with that.), and includes every bit of bonus content from the original game and all subsequent released, which means New Game Plus, Ada Wong, Mercenaries mode are all along for the ride. It'll run you $19.99 Source: CapcomPosted Thu Jul 7, 2016 at 09:48 AM PDT by: -
'The Warriors' Be Looking Good, All The Way To The PS4[teaser]Rockstar slips in another PS2 Classic under the radar.[/teaser] For a brief second, it looked like maybe Sony folk were going to have to just look all forlorn over at their Xbox brethren over the weekened as they got to play 'Red Dead Redemption', but it looks like Rockstar has a nice little consolation prize for them in store. With zero fanfare, Rockstar has quietly released 'The Warriors' to the PS2-to-PS4 program this week. Aside from the usual bump in resolution to 1080p, Trophies, Remote Play and the like, the content is the same, but it's still one of the last truly great beat-'em'ups of its type, not to mention one of the best movie-licensed games ever created, with almost the entirety of the main cast returning to voice, and filling in a huge portion of backstory before even diving into the events of the film. The game's up for $14.99, and worth every penny. And while seeing the movie isn't a requirement for the game, you should go watch that anyway. Because it's awesome. The Last Enemy That Shall Be Destroyed: 'Red Dead Redemption' Will Finally Be Backward Compatible Tomorrow[teaser]And all is right with the world. [/teaser] Tomorrow, the Great White Whale of Xbox backward compatibility finally gets taken down. Rockstar has announced that 'Red Dead Redemption' will be officially made compatible for the Xbox One. That goes for all versions of the game, including the 'Undead Nightmare' DLC. The game has hovered toward the apex of the top requested titles for the system since the feature was announced, until an accidental leak earlier this year hinted the game was definitely being worked on. Clearly, this is still joyous news for a couple of folks, because since the announcement was made, sales of the Xbox 360 versions of the game on Amazon have skyrocketed. That's all well and good if you need a physical edition, but if you're okay with a digital version, though, you're in the best of luck, since the game is actually included in Xbox's Summer Sale for $7.50 ($10.50 without a Gold subscription). Either way you go about it, many a player is about to discover and/or rediscover one of the greatest games of the recent generations. Amen. ....now we can start bugging Microsoft about 'Mass Effect 2' and '3'. Source: RockstarPosted Thu Jul 7, 2016 at 07:23 AM PDT by: -
'Evolve' Goes Free-to-Play on PC[teaser]Beta begins today.[/teaser] Turtle Rock Studios ambitious multiplayer shooter 'Evolve' was highly anticipated before its release, though most felt it ultimately suffered heavily from being a full $60 game that was loaded with paid DLC, and it ultimately sold below expectations. Taking the criticism to heart, the developers have announced that the game will be going free-to-play on PC, with a beta beginning today. Turtle Rock, in a frank statement about the game, said that they understood why the game was heavily criticised, even going as far as to call the DLC situation a "s***storm". To go alongside the free model, the game is going to be heavily updated and rebalanced with changes to the UI, maps, tutorials, and customization options.Players who own the game already will be given a founder status, which allows them to transfer over all of their progress and items, as well as net them free gifts and rewards later on. It has not been mentioned if the console versions will be updated at all. It's a shame the game ultimately ended up a disappointment for the studio, but it's great to see a developer work so heavily to mend issues with a game after its released. Here's hoping the new payment model works out for them. Source: Turtle Rock StudiosPosted Thu Jul 7, 2016 at 06:03 AM PDT by: -

'The Witcher 3: Game of The Year Edition' Announced[teaser]Contains all DLC and expansions.[/teaser] Today, developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed that 'The Witcher 3: Game of The Year Edition' is in production. The new edition will contain all free DLC released for the game, as well as the expansions 'Blood and Wine' and 'Hearts of Stone'. More details including the release date will be shared in the near future, though it has already been confirmed that the package will be released on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. This is really nice news for those who haven't yet jumped into 'The Witcher 3'. I absolutely adored the game, though it did have several performance issues at launch. Thankfully, CD Projekt did an absolutely terrific job patching the majority of the problems it once had, and now plays and runs far more smoothly than it previously did. Even with those issues, it's an absolutely fantastic game, backed by some tremendous DLC, and this absolutely seems like the best way to jump into it for those who haven't already done so. Deep Silver to Publish Atlus and Sega Titles in Europe[teaser]'Persona 5' already confirmed for Europe.[/teaser] Today, Deep Silver has confirmed that they have entered into a publishing agreement with Sega of America and Atlus USA to publish various Atlus and Sega titles throughout Europe. Deep Silver has stated that this means they will be publishing digital and physical versions of these titles, and have already confirmed that they will be publishing 'Persona 5', 'Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse', and '7th Dragon III Code: VFD' across PAL territories. You can read the full press release below: Munich, Germany, July 6 - Deep Silver, SEGA® of America, Inc., and Atlus U.S.A., Inc.are entering a collaboration to publish multiple ATLUS- and SEGA-brand titles on consoles and handheld devices across all European & PAL territories. The publishing deal will cover the wide array of future titles for both physical and digital versions across PAL territories, including the SEGA title 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, and the ATLUS titles Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, and the hotly anticipated Persona 5. "We are delighted to have signed this publishing partnership and look forward to using all our pan-European publishing network to maximize the potential of the ATLUS and SEGA games" said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media/Deep Silver. "In entering this partnership with Deep Silver, I am truly delighted we will be able to release our titles in the European regions," said Naoto Hiraoka, CEO, Atlus U.S.A., Inc., and senior vice president of publishing, Sega of America, Inc. "Not only does the deal span multiple titles, but Deep Silver has a strong presence in European and PAL retailers. They have a strong passion for being able to deliver physical games to our fans in those territories, which we hold in high regard." More news to follow shortly on these exciting titles! While NIS America was the previous publisher for Atlus titles in Europe, NIS recently broke off their agreement, citing complications within Atlus after their acquisition by Sega. While I admit I'm not terribly fond of Deep Silver as a publisher, it is good to see that a bunch of highly anticipated titles will see the light of day in Europe, and hopefully won't take too long getting over there, as a great deal of Atlus titles have in the past. The game is developed by former Cing staff at Arc Systems Works, including Taisuke Kanasaki, the director of beloved DS adventure game 'Hotel Dusk'. Aksys describes the game as follows: Tokyo Third Police Station, Unsolved Cases Investigation Division. There are two detectives in this department never exposed to sunlight. There’s the eccentric detective Shonosuke Nanase and the self-proclaimed elite detective Koto Amekura. The two had too much time on their hands when they received phone a call. The explosion five years ago. “That was not an accident. It was murder.” They did not know the caller’s identity, but although that strange phone call was not much to go on, they decided to begin an investigation. Was this really a case…? First, they talk to the boy who caused the explosion. “Anything that isn’t 100 percent impossible is within the realm of the expected….” With Amekura’s words, Nanase finally kicks into action. Chase the truth of the incident once put to rest!
