Bethesda Announces 'Prey,' A New Game From 'Dishonored' Dev Arkane[teaser]Things aren't all fun and games in space.[/teaser] At Bethesda's E3 conference this evening, Arkane Studios, the developer behind 'Dishonored,' has revealed a new game in the works for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. 'Prey' follows the same first-person action design philosophy as 'Dishonored,' but Arkane looks to be going in more of a survival horror direction. Set in a space station, 'Prey' stars Morgan Yu as he seemingly starts losing his sanity. After waking up several mornings in a row in a cushy apartment, Morgan is thrown into more shadowy accommodations where he fends off monsters with a high-powered firearm. You can check out the reveal trailer for yourself below. 'Prey' is set to release sometime in 2017. Source: BethesdaPosted Sun Jun 12, 2016 at 07:42 PM PDT by: -

Bethesda's E3 Conference Goes Live Tonight; Watch The Stream Here[teaser]Likely featuring some more details about 'Dishonored 2.'[/teaser] Up next on the schedule of E3 news conferences is Bethesda. The publisher has two popular games that are still feeling the DLC love, so you can expect some news about future updates for both 'Doom' and 'Fallout 4.' Of course, Bethesda's big holiday release this year is Arkane's 'Dishonored 2,' so we might be treated to some extended gameplay this evening. As for the other Bethesda cash cow, the 'Elder Scrolls' series, we might see a little of ongoing 'Elder Scrolls Online' MMO or the 'Elder Scrolls Legends' mobile card game announced this time last year. The Bethesda E3 stream kicks off at 10 p.m. Eastern (7 p.m. Pacific). You can watch it on the publisher's Twitch channel or via the embedded player below. Watch live video from Bethesda on www.twitch.tv Bethesda is kicking off the conference with news of the next entry in the 'Quake' franchise, titled 'Quake Champions,' coming to PC. You can see more here. 'Elder Scrolls Legends,' Bethesda's upcoming mobile card game, is next on stage. The story mode is told from the perspective of a Moth Priest. 'Fallout' is the next topic. A handful of 'Fallout 4' expansions were briefly shown. Two included the game's crafting and building mechanic: one featuring Rube Goldberg-esque contraptions and the other allowing players to build their own Vaults. There's also an expansion that includes something that looked like a post-apocalyptic amusement park. 'Fallout Shelter' was also briefly featured. A new set of additions is on the way, and a PC version of the game was announced. As the rumors suggested, a remastered 'Skyrim' game for the PS4 and Xbox One is coming in October. The remastered game is also getting the same mods-on-consoles treatment that just rolled out onto 'Fallout 4.' More details are here. 'Dishonored' developer Arkane announced a new project, titled 'Prey.' It has the same first-person action vibe of 'Dishonored' but with a decidedly survival horror aesthetic. Watch the reveal trailer here. In the spirit of shareware, the first level of 'Doom' is available for free this week on all platforms. We then received a little bit of an extended look at the Dark Brotherhood expansion of 'The Elder Scrolls Online,' bringing the assassin guild to the MMO. Bethesda also announced that the game will be going with a more open feel this fall with 'One Tamriel.' This initiative will unlock the game's content to all players regardless of level. 'Fallout 4' and 'Doom' will be coming to the world of VR with a release on the HTC Vive. Finally, we head to Karnaca, the new setting of 'Dishonored 2.' The developers note the attention to world-building in the creation of the city, with special emphasis on the background music and the believability of the city and the NPCs that inhabit it. The developers note that Karnaca was designed with more of a focus on verticality, which should mean plenty of Spider-Man-ing around with Emily Kaldwin's "far reach" ability. The gameplay footage that followed showed off many of Emily Kaldwin's unique powers. Her power set is different from the familiar one of Corvo Attano, the game's other playable character. Her powers are further broken down here. Source: BethesdaPosted Sun Jun 12, 2016 at 03:58 PM PDT by: -

'Star Trek: Bridge Crew' Coming To VR This Fall From Ubisoft[teaser]A pre-E3 teaser.[/teaser] Ubisoft has revealed that it will be publishing a 'Star Trek'-based VR game for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR this fall. As revealed in an Associated Press report, 'Star Trek: Bridge Crew' is a co-op VR experience that can support up to four players at a time, taking the roles of captain, tactical officer, engineering officer, and helm officer. Using a VR headset and VR handheld controllers, players will pilot a ship called the Aegis through the J.J. Abrams version of the 'Star Trek' universe. The game is being developed by Red Storm Entertainment, a Ubisoft subsidiary that has worked largely on the publisher's 'Tom Clancy' titles. 'Bridge Crew' is set in an area of space called The Trench as players look for a planet that can become a new homeworld for the Vulcans. The game will include more than just combat, featuring space exploration and missions that are both randomly generated and narrative-driven. "It's up to you if you want to try the Kirk approach or be more methodical," David Votypka, Red Storm senior creative director, told the AP. "The game is more about how you and your crew approach situations. It's not binary. Is it more important to save the Vulcan scientists or rescue everyone on the planet? It might be too difficult to do both. It's just like the show. There's not any one right answer." Expect to see more of this game revealed at Ubisoft's E3 conference Monday at 4 p.m. Eastern (1 p.m. Pacific). Source: ABC News (via Game Informer)Posted Sun Jun 12, 2016 at 07:49 AM PDT by: -
'Injustice 2' Gameplay Trailer Shows New Characters, Super Moves In Action[teaser]Villains Grodd and Atrocitus get their debut.[/teaser] In honor of this weekend's 'Mortal Kombat X' Pro League Finals, developer NetherRealm Studios released the first gameplay footage from the recently announced sequel to 'Injustice: Gods Among Us,' filled with sneak peeks at some of the new characters, their Super Moves, and some Stage Transitions. Two new villains that will be joining the roster of 'Injustice 2' are shown off in the gameplay trailer. Atrocitus, the main face of the Red Lantern Corps, is shown taking on Superman and other newcomer Supergirl with rage-fueled ring projections and charming Red Lantern blood vomit. Atrocitus also seems to be joined at points by Dex-Starr, the character that answers the question, "What if a normal Earth housecat had enough rage in his heart to attract a Red Lantern ring?" Gorilla Grodd shows up in the gameplay footage as well, demonstrating some mind control-based powers in bouts against Aquaman and Atrocitus. A third brief cameo shows undersea villain Black Manta taking on Aquaman, but because he is only seen in the context of a cutscene, there's a good chance that he's only a part of an Atlantus Stage Transition instead of a member of the game's roster. The action is fast-paced and never seen for more than a few seconds before it cuts away, but quick eyes should come away from the 'Injustice 2' gameplay trailer seeing a handful of brutal Super Moves and a few elements that weren't in the original fighting game, like the Batplane or Aquaman summoning phantom octopus tentacles to get his enemies off their feet. You can watch the gameplay trailer below, and you can check out the original announcement trailer here. Source: IGNPosted Sun Jun 12, 2016 at 06:54 AM PDT by:
