'Nioh' Beta Demo Detailed, Gameplay Trailer Released[teaser]Another shot at earning some free DLC.[/teaser] Today, Koei Tecmo has detailed the upcoming beta for 'Nioh', which will run from August 23rd until September 6th. This beta will give players another shot to obtain the 'Mark of the Conqueror' DLC that was a reward for finishing the alpha, as well as new 'Mark of the Strong' DLC for finishing the newly available level. Koei Tecmo's full description is as follows: Following the overwhelming success of the Alpha Demo in April—as well as the community’s generous feedback—the Nioh Beta Demo will incorporate a number of gameplay changes made with fans in mind, which will be immediately noticeable upon their return to the village of Usuki. This first stage of the demo will offer new challenges and the opportunity to once again fight for the mysterious Mark of the Conqueror DLC. Warriors who conquered Usuki and procured the DLC during the Alpha Demo won’t be left wanting, however, as they will receive a set of weapons and more starting money. These champions will also have the opportunity to play through the new Nakatsu stage without having to clear Usuki again. The new Nakatsu stage leads protagonist William along a treacherous mountain path to a deep cave, where he must prevail against human and supernatural enemies alike—including the seductive Hinoenma, a dangerous Yokai under the guise of a beautiful woman. Defeating the Nakatsu stage will award players with the Mark of the Strong DLC, which will be available when the game launches. The experience gained from the trials of Usuki and Nakatsu should equip the most skilled players for an even more challenging undertaking: the Twilight mission. In this arduous mission, players can re-visit Usuki or Nakatsu, battle against stronger enemies and new fearsome creatures, and earn highly-valued items. The Beta Demo will also feature a selection of new weapons, including the long-range hand cannon rifle and a fresh selection of Katanas (including dual-wielded Katanas), Spears, Axes and Hammers which will provide new options to suit any gameplay style. In addition, players will get a taste of Onmyo magic and Ninjutsu elements of combat, which add bonuses to William’s attack and can invoke special techniques to provide various effects. Lastly, to better prepare players for the trials that await, a Training Dojo has been added to the demo. This tutorial stage has been implemented to teach newcomers how to fight with a katana, the most basic yet refined of weapon choices, and how to navigate through the game. The Training Dojo will be available from the beginning of the demo. You can catch the latest trailer for the game right here: I really loved the alpha for this game, and can't wait to see the new beta level, weapons, and mecahnical changes. This is shaping up really nicely, and I'm really excited to play it later this year. Source: Koei TecmoPosted Wed Aug 17, 2016 at 05:33 AM PDT by: -

'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' Will Feature 'Zombies in Spaceland'[teaser]David Hasselhoff stars in the mode.[/teaser] Activision has announced that 'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' will include Infinity Ward's first crack at the popular zombies mode featured in past 'Call of Duty' entries. Called 'Zombies in Spaceland,' the four-player cooperative survival mode will once again have players fighting off zombies. There's one major distinction, though, this time they'll be doing it in outer space. Well, kind of. The mode actually takes place on a space-themed movie set, and takes place during the 1980s. Players can expect plenty of sci-fi campiness in 'Zombies in Spaceland,' as it features the likeness and voices of several well known actors. These include Pee-wee Herman himself, Paul Reubens as the director of the film, and the playable characters will be portrayed by Seth Green, Ike Barinholtz, Jay Pharoah and Sasheer Zamata. Finally, the cast is rounded out by David Hasselhoff who is the park's DJ. Check out the debut trailer of 'Zombies in Spaceland' below: Activision will be showing off more of the mode over on their Twitch channel tomorrow, August 17th, at 9 a.m. PT. 'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' is set to release November 4th, 2016 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. New 'Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse' Trailer Released[teaser]Ready to slay a god?[/teaser] Today, Atlus USA has released a new trailer for their upcoming 3DS JRPG 'Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse' showing off the battle system and its myriad mechanics, you can get a look at the trailer right here: Atlus describes the game as follows: Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse features: • The Eternal Struggle Between Gods– The Shin Megami Tensei series, known for exploring the tenuous symbiosis between man and deity , reaches deeper than ever in Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, as the band of main characters must decide which side of peace or anarchy they are on. • Partner Up for Success – A new twist on the SMTIV combat formula allows players to bring one of seven partners to battle (in addition to the standard three demons), each with their own unique skills and AI. Plus, partners will fill up a meter that will interrupt the enemy, do massive damage, and give players an extra turn. Given the excruciating difficulty of battles in Shin Megami Tensei, the partner system will allow for new player strategies. • Demons Aplenty – Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse has a series record 450+ demons to fight, fuse, or recruit to player parties. With demons from a wide selection of cultures and religions to choose from, players will be able to customize their party to their liking. • Fuse For Affinities – Demon fusion, combining two or more demons to form a more powerful one, is one of the cornerstones of Shin Megami Tensei games, and now demons will have affinities for certain skills, giving players more decisions to make about which skills fusions will inherit. • Press Turns and Smirking – The Press Turn system returns, which gives players (or enemies!) extra turns for exploiting weaknesses. The Smirk system returns as well, which gives huge offensive and defensive boosts to party members (or enemies) and now unlocks bonuses for certain skills, such as insta-kill attacks. This looks really fantastic. 'Shin Megami Tensei IV' is one of my absolute favorite RPGs of the last few years, and a return to its world and systems is really exciting to me. The return to a more anarchic tone is really cool, and everything shown for the game so far has been absolutely wonderful. I'm really pumped to finally get my hands on this when it hits on September 20th. Source: Atlus USAPosted Tue Aug 16, 2016 at 11:56 AM PDT by: -
