'Borderlands 2' Post Launch DLC Class Revealed
Mon Apr 09, 2012 at 11:30 AM ETTags: Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC (all tags)
The PAX panel also showed off some of the customization that you can do with your characters.
So you've beaten 'Borderlands 2' over and over again, maxed out all your characters and gotten the best weapons – what to do next? Gearbox has the answer in post launch DLC, but not just a new quest hub or arena. They're introducing a whole new class.
The Mechromancer is a hybrid of human and machine - part woman, part robot. She also brings her own robot companion with her, named D374-TP, or Deathtrap. The Mechnomancer will be available after the September 18th launch of 'Borderlands 2' and will be free for anyone that's preordered the game.
There will also be options to customize your character with custom gear earned from completing challenges within the game. It's a safe bet that you'll be able to unlock new gear through DLC as well.

'Borderlands 2' is Coming September 18th

New trailer promises 870 bajillion more guns. Also, more skills, for the payment of larger bills.
When 'Borderlands' was first shown at E3, no one cared. It had a dull design aesthetic and there was nothing at all to separate it from the pack. The folks at Gearbox took that criticism to heart and altered the game significantly, creating a unique title that felt almost like an FPS version of 'Diablo.'
The highly anticipated 'Borderlands 2 is due out this year and the developers and publisher have finally set a date. You can get back to your CL4P-TP abusing, skag killing and ride catchin' on September 18th. And of course, there are preorder bonuses.
If you preorder the game from either Amazon or GameStop, you'll be a part of the Premiere Club, which gives you a few new guns to play with, the drop-boosting Vault Hunter's Relic and the Golden Key, which unlocks a rare item.

Gearbox Honors Fan Who Passed Away by Making him an NPC in Borderlands 2
Mon Nov 07, 2011 at 09:30 AM ETTags: Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Gearbox (all tags)
Once again the company goes far out of its way to help out a fan.
Last month, a young man - just 22 - named Michael John Mamaril was taken from his friends and family by cancer. He and his friend Carlo were incredibly big Borderlands fans and Carlo wanted to find a special way to pay tribute to his friend, so he wrote to Gearbox to see what they could do.
In response, Gearbox sent a touching eulogy voiced by the game's smartass mascot CL4P-TP, otherwise known as Claptrap. In addition, they're going to help Michael live on in memory by making him an NPC in the upcoming 'Borderlands 2.'
Whether you're a fan of Gearbox's games or not, there's something to be said for a company that is routinely going out of its way to help out fans and do something sweet. You may remember a similar moment from the company when they made a video to help a fan propose to his girlfriend.
