Recent Release 'Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed' is only $14.99.
SEGA is having a flash sale on Sonic games on Steam for one day only. Seventeen different Sonic titles and DLC pack are half off today, and each one can be bought individually.
Topping the list of deals has to be 'Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed,' which can be had for $14.99. The game's 'Metal Sonic and Outrun' DLC is only $1.49 as well.

The PC classic has also been promised for Steam.
'System Shock 2,' known today by the majority of gamers as Ken Levine's proto-'Bioshock,' but considered by others to be a peerless classic, emerged today from the entanglements of the demise of Looking Glass Studios in preparation for a re-release tomorrow on gog.com.
As detailed in Rock, Paper, Shotgun the gog.com version will allow the game to run on modern systems while retaining the ability to support the many existing user mods and will be available for $9.99. A Steam version has been promised, but a date has not been revealed.

'Half-Minute Hero' Comes to Steam

'Half-Minute Hero', or as the new version is known, 'Half Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy,' has finally made it to Steam. If you haven't played it, 'Half-Minute Hero' is a game that lampoons the JRPG genre while providing a completely different playstyle.
The general conceit is that the world will be ending in 30 seconds, so you need to grind levels, buy gear, and finish off the boss before time is up. You have ways of extending your time of course, but each level tends to run for five or so minutes at most. While most JRPG style games are slower and more patient, 'Half-Minute Hero' goes at full speed from start to stop.
The game is on Steam now for $8.99. The price goes up to $9.99 on October 4th.

Steam Will Offer Non-Gaming Software Starting September 5th

But will we be seeing massive savings on tax software bundles in the Steam holiday sale?
Over the last decade, Steam has gone from something of an annoyance in the DRM department to a massive digital distribution platform for PC games. Now the service is expanding past gaming and into more traditional software.
Starting September 5th, Valve will be launching software titles in categories like Productivity, Design & Illustration, Education, Software Training and more. You'll be able to get your tax, spreadsheet and other software from the same place you get your videogames -a good excuse as any to have Steam installed at work.
"The 40 million gamers frequenting Steam are interested in more than playing games," says Valve's Mark Richardson. "They have told us they would like to have more of their software on Steam, so this expansion is in response to those customer requests."
Valve has not yet elaborated as to which titles will be available, but we're just under a month from finding out.
