'Aliens: Colonial Marines' Gets a February 12, 2013 Release Date

We'll have to wait and see if the game will justify a seven year development schedule.

Gearbox Software took the legendary unfinished game 'Duke Nukem Forever' and finished it, but they've had their own 'Duke Nukem' sitting in development for some time now. But there's finally a release date in place and things are looking good.

'Aliens: Colonial Marines,' which was first announced back in 2006, will finally be released on February 12th of 2013. The game's looking slick, and Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford says that the game is true to the original vision and downplays the development time as simply a misunderstanding based on a far-too-early announcement.

He also says that the release date is only for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC – the Wii U version will be announced at a later date.

Xbox 360s, Roku players and Samsung TVs and players can now stream HBO Go.

The implementation of HBO Go has been a surprisingly difficult process. Different cable providers feel differently about allowing customers to watch the programming on their TVs through capable devices and have been blocking the service to prevent it.

Time Warner has finally relented, and is now allowing streaming of HBO's streaming service through Roku players, Samsung TVs, Samsung Blu-ray players and Xbox 360s. There's going to be a period of transition before it's available on all devices, but Roku says it should only be a few hours for their players.

Crystal Dynamics says that delivering the highest quality possible means that more time is needed.

The much talked about reboot of the Lara Croft games has been delayed from a fall 2012 release to a date somewhere in the first quarter of 2013. 'Tomb Raider' is in need of a bit of work in order to meet the standards of developer Crystal Dynamics.

"Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game," says studio head David Gallagher." He says that the game will be the best the company's put out so far and is building up some big expectations for what we can see with the extra development time

The $99 Xbox 360 and Kinect Combo is Real

Tue May 08, 2012 at 03:30 PM ET

Microsoft will be using a cell phone style service that requires a 2 year commitment to Xbox Live.

The Xbox 360 isn't exactly an expensive system at this point, but it's still out of some people's price range. Casual gamers and parents may even shell out for a Wii simply because the cost is so low. Microsoft has a new way to combat that.

The company is set to offer an Xbox 360 and Kinect combo for just $99. The catch – and of course there's a catch – is that you'll have to sign up for two years of Xbox Live Gold at $15 a month – that's $360 over the course of two years.

It's not a fantastic deal if you're not planning on using Xbox Live, but if you are, that's a savings of $200, assuming you're paying $15 a month for your Xbox Live.
